Classical Acupuncturist
Angela Gervan BHSc, CMCNZ Reg.
Women’s Health & Wellbeing
Ange is a classical acupuncturist with 15 years’ experience in acupuncture and over 20 years’ experience across the health and wellbeing field. She has a particular interest in women’s health, including fertility, pregnancy, menstrual health, hormonal wellbeing and stress.
Ange’s journey into Eastern medicine began during four years living in Japan, where she developed a deep appreciation for its culture, philosophy and holistic approach to wellbeing. Her connection with Traditional Chinese Medicine deepened while living in Beijing, where she taught yoga and lived with a TCM doctor. These experiences became an important part of her own health and wellbeing journey and ultimately led her to formally studying acupuncture and TCM in New Zealand, gaining a Health Science Degree.
Her approach is gentle and considered, drawing particularly on Japanese acupuncture techniques, alongside TCM and Five Elements theory. The quiet, attentive and respectful qualities she values from Japanese culture continue to influence the way she practises, with each treatment tailored to the individual.
As a mother of three, Ange brings personal experience of pregnancy, birth and family life to her work with women. Alongside acupuncture, she is an experienced yoga and qigong teacher, leads wellbeing retreats and has previously lectured at the NZ School of Acupuncture & TCM in paediatric acupuncture and food therapy. Lifestyle guidance and practical wellbeing advice are also an important part of her approach.
Ange creates a calm, supportive space where women can slow down, reconnect and take time for themselves.
